Wow, that plain rotor magically transformed into a drilled and slotted one, just like Pinocchio!

Thank you for your work. But can you say, what is the size of the axle nut for this car?

Very helpful and informative video! While this video shows the front wheel bearing and I’m doing the rear the info crosses over pretty well. The big difference is the four bolts that hold the hub assembly in are slightly harder to get to in the rear (on an AWD model) because they are inside of the control arm. I used an 8-10” extension and a swivel to get to them and used a breaker bar to break them loose 👍

Well, this is perfect. I have to do this myself. Driver side is really loud. They want $504 to replace just 1 side at Firestone. The site you have listed sells both sides for only $129! how exciting! Qiuick question, what size is the nut that holds the hub assembly in place? Great video as Well!

I am not ASE Certified. I usually have my work done these days by qualified techs. In this case, I needed to save some $$, so I set out to do it myself. I haven't worked on cars since the early 90's and so I made some amateur mistakes. The 1st mistake was using an SAE socket instead of a metric. It felt tight but I rounded 2 bearing mounting bolt heads. The metric socket felt tighter. I bought a damaged bolt head removal tool but the CVC joint was in the way so I had to detach the lower control arm in order to move the CVC joint away from the steering knuckle.

Then I made the mistake of pounding the spindle away from the knuckle by using a hammer. I should have used a 5 lb dead blow hammer. I damaged the very end of the spindle and couldn't get the hub nut to start. I had to buy a tap and die set to fix that problem. Also, had to do some filing on the end of the spindle just to get the die started. Once I was able to start turning it about 4 times, the nut went on smoothly.

Everything is back together now and it passed the road test. All I have now is a damaged ABS Speed Sensor that I have to replace.

🧑‍🔧🙃

Can this work on a 2013 Nissan Sentra?

Nice work. Good tip on spreading the pads. Wouldn't recommend hammering on a rotor and reusing (no other choice sometimes, right?), or threadlocking the bolts (just clean, copper grease, and torque spec), but still superior to the online service manual.
