glow tetras are not schooling fish. They establish territory in the tank and fight all day long. i have 12 in a 40 gallon and all they do is fight for there space. Never again will i buy them. The only time they school is when they are scared.

Oh and I would get maybe around 3 more tetras to join that tank, because tetras are schooling fish and are best when in groups of 5 or larger depending on the tank size. Hope he gets better! Goodluck!

Thanks all. After this much time and buying few more the problem seems to go away. I also added some plants so maybe they divided their terrotories as another commentor mentioned. But i am happy with them though one tetra died a weird way. All its fins were gone. I checked other fishes and their fins are ok. Tested water too. Doesnt seem to be fin rot either but i tried some aquafix anyways

So glofish teras do chase around like that, if this is a new tank I would recommend removing that glofish out of the tank (If it continues), and if you were planning on getting more fish, go for it! But make sure the water is around 73-80 degrees because the incorrect temperature can cause aggression.

I have just 4 glofish but they fight with each other all day long. I am scared to get more because they get way too territorial.

No glofish do chase each other sometimes but not like that that is not normal you just probably get it out of that tank before it kills other fish

I had a group of glo tetras and they are considered schooling fish. But why r they so territorial and aggressive towards eachother? First time I had a group, I got 2 green ones that were longed finned and they seemed to b the tank boss and all the other tetras where always hiding. Eventually they all died. The second time I got a group of long finned tetra, the first 3 I had were small and I added 4 bigger ones. My smaller ones where bullying the four bigger newer ones I just got so I had to return them. I'm starting to think it might be the long finned glo fish tetras that are more aggressive. I'm trying out a wave maker. Heard that will distract the fish and lower aggression
