A great unit!! My husband installed it with no issues. He asked I start up the video.. ran it while he was installing it..stopping it etc. as he went on. We bought two more for our other bedrooms, they are very nice…. Extremely quiet! Bravo!
The best part, we bought ours at COSTCO, great price!

Installing this thing almost led to a divorce! But we did it. And better yet, we are still married.

I installed a 10, 000 btu unit without help in 2 hours. Easy and problem free. Everything fit perfectly. I'm buying another. This thing is incredible. The designers of the unit are exceptionally talented. Never thought I'd see a BLDC motor in a window AC unit.

The manual was absolutely terrible, thank you for this video!

Just finished installing my new Midea U air conditioner. Thank you for this instruction video, it was very useful (combined with the included instruction manual). The support bracket, side foam, and overall sealing are very well designed!

My only (small) complaint is that there was slightly not enough window sealing foam. My Side Arm Foam pieces were cut to 7.25 inches each and I followed the instructions to start the window sealing foam slightly above the bottom of them. Afterwards, there was not enough remaining to cover the bottom of the window's lower sash. However, there was only about half an inch on each side that wasn't sealed and I was able to cut off some of the extra window sash foam to stick into those two spots. So functionally, this wasn't a big issue at all. But if a Midea employee sees this comment, I suggest increasing the length of the Window Sealing foam by 1-2 inches.

Best air conditioner installation video I’ve seen in the last hour and a half.

I have to agree that this was very frustrating to install. I used the video as my primary source, and one missing step (remove the screws before sliding the anti-tilt brackets) plus some annoying finagling with the foam I had to cut (they said to add 1/4" but my measurements were spot on and required no additional foam) were my main sticking points. My window has a roof just outside of it, not a wall, so I had to flip the support arms around to rest on the roof -- thankfully doing so still resulted in about a 1 degree tilt outside (according to my phone's measure app) and tonight is the first real test of it. On the plus side, it is exceptionally quiet compared to the usual window units I buy, and seems to be cooling quite well. The big test for me is going to be whether I get musty/moldy odors after it rains. I'd suggest adding some support arms for different window/roof configurations and a lot more foam/strips for making mistakes with.

I just installed my unit.
The installation was a bit involved but worth doing and a few minor steps were missed in video. Like removing the screws before setting the anti-tilt bars.
Also in the video its worth showing how to slide the AC onto the tracks.
I am a handy person so none of these posed much of an issue bit I’m sure others would appreciate a completed illustration.
Also I think its worth noting that I still needed to install AC window insulation foam. Every window is different from the illustrations so there are gaps that won’t be covered with the stock foam that was provided.

Costco has these on super sale right now: $279 ($50 off) when Amazon is selling for $450. I was so happy with one, that we bought a second. The video really adds to the manual ... it was a bit tricky with the installation but I like how many "safeguards" there are to keep the unit in place. Super important since mine is for a 2nd story window. Highly recommend this unit so far: quiet, small, and feels so secure with the U-shaped design.

Took about 45 minutes from start to finish. No issues whatsoever. Very good instructions.

Dad ordered one and it should be here in 15 minutes thru amazon. 12, 000 BTU unit. Watched the video and the install seems very straightforward. Will be back to comment if i remember.

My windows were very different due to age, but this video did give me the basics of what to do and was very helpful for my installation. This ac is fantastic and the best install and most stable out of any ac I've had. Thank uou

It’s a nice unit, efficient and quiet. Take note that the 1” screws will not fit the holes of the bottom section of the horizontal bracket. You will need to widen these before you can use the 1” screws. This can add a level of frustration to a fairly confusing install. That said, I think the unit is worth it.

Half way there. Watched video 3-4 times. VERY well done.

I didn't think it was possible for a window AC to be this quiet. I am amazed at the quality.

This video really helped vs the printed instructions. Thank you!
Only grip I really had was my window was around 24 or 25 inches wide. For that, there really should be 2 of the shorter bars. The longer bar has to be in to the opposite side hole, making it off center and not the greatest fit on the short side. Add like $10 to the AC for it (not much vs the total cost).
Other than that, nice machine! One person in our house likes a really quiet room for sleeping, so this should work perfect. Ty!

I made some quick SPL measurements before replacing another unit with this one. At least on full blast, the midea unit measures somewhat close to the old unit. The midea has a constant low hum, which I prefer to the high pitch squealing of the old unit. My measurements are pretty rough, but I'd say it's a 5dBa improvement with the midea once the room has reached normal temperature again.
I think it's funny how the instructions for lipped seals is just like, welp, don't use those two screws because they won't work. I put a 2x4 against my lipped seal and screwed it into the sill, then installed the unit onto that. I wasn't comfortable or sure whether the lips on my sill would hold the weight well.
I do think there may be room for improvement - if there was some rubber insulated mounting there may be less sound transfer into the building. The outside angled support arms have rubber feet, but the cotter pins could use a rubber ring or mount. The bottom of the unit could have rubber where it mates with the support bracket.
I may have myself to blame because the lipped sill probably transfers much less sound, and not much sound is going to make it through the extension arms. By using a 2x4 I provide a solid transmission path to the building.

This install was quite painful but I do appreciate the many, many extra steps to ensure safety and an obnoxious degree of stability. Will buy one again but man, it took a lot of effort.

Great video - thank you! Perfect install over the manual. We bought two of these units: the 12, 000 BTU and the 10, 000 BTU. When we watched the video the first time, it took about a little over an hour. But the second time around (with the video), it took about 45 minutes. The reviewer (Esper Wyrenth) is correct. No need to add the 1/4 inch to the foam). These are amazing air conditioning units. And I love how quiet these are!
