'Homeland' star Mandy Patinkin

The Tony-, Emmy- and Grammy Award-winning actor, known for his intensity, admits he has earned a reputation as being "hard to handle" for walking out of shows. But in "Homeland," Mandy Patinkin is in his element as CIA Agent Saul Berenson, the calm in the eye of the storm. Correspondent Holly Williams talked with Patinkin in Morocco where he was filming the series' eighth season. They also discussed his years as an ambassador for the International Rescue Committee, and she joined Patinkin and his wife, actor-writer Kathryn Grody, as they visited a camp for Syrian refugees in Jordan.

Even to this day, the look on Saul's face at the end of the series makes me wish there was a ninth season of Homeland. I just re-watched the whole show and I miss it all over again, strange how we could get so attached to a TV series, but then again, this isn't just any "normal" TV series. What an experience this must have been to create this over the span of 8 years, great people!

I absolutely love him and I love how she was quiet while he was thinking. That's so cool, professional, respectful and it shows CLASS. Brilliant that they also did not edit those few seconds. Great job guys!

His character "Saul" is amazing. I cannot imagine anyone else playing that character. He is probably my favorite character on the show. I've always heard that Patinkin was "hard to work with" but I never really knew am glad that they touched on that. I can live with the fact that he gave up a lot of money, because he felt the character he was playing was "damaging to his soul', or something to that effect.

What an amazing range of talent! Seeing him when I was young, ( 18 - 25), on Broadway with his beautiful voice. And now this. There are " Hollywood Stars" and then there are great talents. Mr Patinkin is indeed, , the latter. I've just binged on "Homeland" and now have to search out Mandy's other performers via his IMDB "resume".
