I love getting the Open Gate Quilts subscription box each month! This box is wonderful! It comes with two projects and some extra goodies! I find it nice to have two curated quilt projects come each month! In this video I work through both of the projects!

Hi 😊. Love this month’s box and am excited for mine to arrive. I believe Monique demos how to make the design board and use the notion to miter the corners. I watched the video link she emailed and think you can get it via the QR code in the box paperwork.

I would want a much larger design board. When I made my boards a while back (I used hot glue), I mitered the corners the same way I make the corners of binding - top folds one direction and the bottom folds the opposite direction. I think the hard part is making the joined fabric look nice. Since the top fabric is folded under and then folded around the bottom fabric, there is no way for the top fabric to be wide enough to cover the bottom fabric. I ended up pleating the bottom layer to make it narrower in the area where it would be covered. That probably sounds confusing, but anyone who has tried to make these will know what I’m talking about.

Hi Fallon, thank you for another great video! I have a video at the end of my unboxing video that shows the mitered, like Debra said. It's not that important to have mitered corners...it's done and it's cute!

I would never pay good money for a box with no directions; much less recommend it. I don’t get it.
