Brane Model of Universe Expansion

Показать описание
This is an animation I created to illustrate a model of the universe, with the Big Bang and its expansion. It is based on Brane (Membrane) Theory. In its simplest terms, each circle represents a spatial dimension, X, Y, and Z, corresponding to Length, Width, and Height. The theory is that at the moment of the Big Bang, these three dimensions just started to intersect, and continued to converge, enlarging the inner overlapping region between them. This is what we would perceive as space or the universe as we experience it.
What is interesting about this model is that it also illustrates a paradox. Space expands as it contracts on itself. I first envisioned this Venn diagram model of the universe in 1992, and have now animated it as it had gone from a static representation to a dynamic one. This model can be expanded to multiple dimensions (ten or more as many others have theorized), but the three familiar spacial ones are the simplest to illustrate the concept. It can also be used to model minute quantum particles.
This model is at the core of a presentation I am developing to illustrate these concepts in simpler terms.
