But despite the prices a roasted bag of single-origin coffee can reach in the world’s wealthiest countries, the farmers who handpick each coffee cherry struggle to earn a profit.

This coffee price and quality needs transparency between the producers and the green bean buyers. This problem in Kenya is also faced in Papua New Guinea, one of the highest producing coffee country in South Pacific.
