Beautiful motors man, and thanks for the heads up on the Valve cover cap and applying silicone around the ring...nice touch on painting water pump black. Overall gorgeous piece's 👍👍👍

Speaking of leaks I bought a double hump headed small-block. It had a 3/8 hole drilled right through the head for alternator mounting previously. It never leaked in the hole, painted orange with permatex in the hole didn't even know it was there.

Here's a thought you could plug it off. and use the jegs bolt on universal all aluminum oil filler cap with a screw on all aluminum lid with a rubber o-ring and everything you need. it's what I have used. it's actually a very nice quality piece and no leaks at all.

Bought one and the block was cracked from Chevrolet performance! When the replacement engine came in it had fallen in the crate just like the first scratching the face of the left head. Good luck and check the engine closely.

Great video. Curious, what are doing with the steering set up in mid 60’s Chevelle’s with the Mast pan? Center link hits the pan but can’t really notch the cast aluminum. Just shimming the motor?

Does the Holley 302-3 oil pan work with the lsx454 stroke?

How much put together roughly is a setup like this?

Mind doing a video on sealing LSX rear main cover? Where do you get the alignment tool for rear cover? Existing cover and seal can be re-used/sealed, correct? Got an LSX crate engine on its way to me and want time take care of this once I get it (unless you know if it’s been remedied on recent LSX crate engines). Thanks.

Hello bro can I fly you out to Oklahoma for a few days to do this stuff to my new 454 lsx? And put a cam that chops in it? I'll pay for flights plus labor

What I want to know is how come when it comes to the LS engines the 427cid is all the craze when you can buy an LSX 454cid and as the saying goes if you have more cubic inches you can make more HP which really in today's world is not that true as long as you start with a good platform and good internals and good machine work then you'll make good HP but me personally if I had the money to build a stout small block instead of running a 427cid LS I would run a 454cid LS with either a huge single or twin big turbos or if I was building a nitrous engine I would go as big as 496cid because nowadays people are building over 500cid LS engines with 2-3 kits of nitrous and if I was building a Procharged engine then maybe go with either a 427cid or bigger with a big crank driven Procharger but if I was building a SBC than it would be either 427cid or 434cid and if I was building a BBC than I would build a 540cid or bigger preferably 572 or 632cid nitrous turbo or blower

I have really been waffling between this and the 427 LS7 to replace the LS6 in my 2004 Z06... The sound of the 454 gets me and so does that little extra displacement, it looks on average the LSX 454 is more affordable as well. Thoughts on the differences between the two?

Cool engines! I just had a question about forged crank vs billet vs shot peened, what is best and what is the difference? Thanks for responding to your fan mail bro👍

My dad has a 73' c3 corvette stingray, lsx454 swapped. It is extremely fast and torquey... sadly it is burning oil :( puffs abit of grey smoke especially after shifting up a gear say close to red line. Do you think the rings are gone? It has barely done 5, 000 miles!

I’m a amateur but know about these engines mostly from team hhp. I have a question that I feel is very dumb but I need an answer. Can these engines run with an automatic trans? I wanna drop one in my 86 caprice classic

A power adder or nitrous might blow the oil cap off possibly I've seen it on small and big block Chevys. Of course small and big block Chevys don't have that's tight of a ring seal as the ls does with those thin rings they use.

Good Info. In the GM specs, it specifies forged crankshaft (and forged pistons) for the LSx376 B15 exclusively and Cast (both crankshaft and pistons) for the B8. While I understand that the B8 has regular Gen4/LS3 Rods, does the B15 have LSA Rods then ? Do you happen to know the Rod lengths on the LSx376 B8 and B15 ? Are they just standard GM off the shelf OEM length 6.098" (for the LSA and LS3 Rods) or are they in fact 6.125" ? On paper, the LSx376 B15 is an INCREDIBLE deal and other than swapping the Rods and Rocker Trunnions, it would be pretty much perfect for a big boost application/street race application on a budget for something half decent and reliable.

I have a 2015 Camaro I was thinking about putting a LSX 454 in it I currently have the stock V6 15, 000 miles 6speed manual trans have you heard of anyone doing that swap?

Do you get the same choppy sound on a LSX 454 like that of a BBC 454? Have you ever ran a 8 stack borla induction on one?
