The Notebook (2004) Rachel McAdams & Ryan Gosling

Adaptation to the big screen of the romantic novel of the writer Nicholas Sparks of the same title. It is very reminiscent of films like the Italian "Cinema Paradiso" or the French "Jeux d'enfants". The great chemistry among its leading actors accompanied by a fabulous soundtrack made this movie a blockbuster at the time.

This movie was the last movie my husband and I watched before he died. He kept telling me, “this is us…this is us.” I met him when I was 14…one month after my dad died. We graduated and went our separate ways. Took us 20 years to find each other again then he was gone after almost 7 yrs together. I wouldn’t trade those 7 years for anything…he was and will always be the love of my life.
