I just bought a pair of Salomon Crossover goretex boots for the west highland way in May, I previously used berghaus Gtex shoes but I was attracted by the light weight of the Salomons & that they appear to be a slightly sturdier incarnation of their trail running shoes.
I’ve been wearing them & they seem to be great from the off and not in need of the kind of wearing in needed for boots in years gone bye, but I guess I’ll have to wait and see, one way or the other I’ll know when I get to Fort William for sure 😉

Nice review. Good point about the toe box width. When you are not ready to slip is when you will. Good Luck, Rick

Good vid. However, I wish Salomon wouldn’t use elasticated laces and pockets. I returned two pairs because the elastic on the pockets failed after a few days. In my view there’s no benefit over conventional laces and it’s just a gimmick. I therefore returned to Merrells and won’t buy Salomon again.
