This weekend Australia and South Africa will play game one in this years Rugby Championship competition.

The game to be held in Brisbane, Australia has been sold out as many Australians, Kiwis and South Africans want to see how Joe Schmidts new look Wallabies will go against the all conquering South African Springboks.

In this video I take a look at the two teams and share my insights to what I think will happen, and I encourage you to do the same in the comments.

Whatever happens it is sure to be a great game and a brilliant way to kick off this year Rugby Championship.

Good Onya Mark, a well presented preview as always.
It should be a good game and much anticipation around the no.10 !
If the Bokke get it altogether they should win - but maybe not by much - or as much as some predict!?
The Wallabies will be strong and their new coach will have already put some of his stamp and character on the team.
Look forward to some good rugger!👍🏉

Hi Mark - I am a big fan of Tomas Du Toit and I think he should be starting more matches for SA. Might be because as a loosehead he had some tough competition at the Sharks so he switched to tighthead since he is just that at Bath what a weapon he is....

Can't see the Boks slipping up here in fact I reckon they will win comfortably in the end by a 20+ point margin.
It will be interesting to see what JS has brought to this Wallabies team though. They certainly won't be rolling over and I expect them to be in it at half time. But the Boks have all the ammo here and they will be using it to the full in the 2nd half and that's where I see them pulling away.
What a shock it would be if Australia won this one though! Who knows? Maybe the wily JS will have something up his sleeve.
Should be a good one!

I am worried about our defense system and hopefullly Rassie and his team worked on it. Another area is yes, cards and the diffrrent shot clocks and adjustment to new rules. But that is a handicap to both sides. And in the back of my mind, Willie le Roux. Did he fully recover and wil he be the best version of himself? Boks by 27😱 is my call. So they better take it, next weekend will be against a more experienced Wallaby side.

So glad for some epic old-school rugby at ungodly hours...double brandy specils available from 6am at most South African pubs😅😅

Aussie is bogey side for the Boks. As a Bok fan I'm convinced that we simply steamroll the Wallabies, I think it'll be a hard fought & grueling test, we take it by a score, with the Aussies winning a lot of respect for their effort. Their a wounded side, so their going to be playing out of their minds. We are probably going to see a card or two, which will impact the final result, hence my belief that if we win, it won't be by much.

Totally agree with you Mark, Bokke will be too strong. There are many South Africans living in Brizzy too. Should be a great game. Even though they do not have a good record there, they will be more conscious, Rassie will have a plan for it and they will be wide awake.

Bokkie has a poor record in Australia. I remember when the AB's put 50+ on both in consecutive weekends on their home grounds after a RWC where the AB's were embarrassing. Bokkie has a hoodoo to tackle in Australia. Give the Wallabies a sniff and things will get interesting. The Bokkie isn't the AB whose record in Australia is second to none. Lot to play for here. If an Eden Park history is important to the AB's, so is Australia to the Wallabies. The romance of Modernity dies on Friday. A new era arrives.

Australia has always been South Africas thorn side especially in Australia. We only playing two good jumpers in the lineout and think that is a mistake as Wilson and Valentini jump ok but are not brilliant jumpers. Loosing both McWrieght and Wright (Very good jumper) is going to hurt especially against the Spring Box one side you need to have a good lineout for. But it is a much more balanced side than what the world cup side was and that will make a big difference.

The Boks are good very good however, what game are they playing new players, rules
Every time it's the next game, they can lose a horrible thought. All Blacks will win all there games, Boks will lose 2 or 3
, we are rebuilding as is every body

Bokke to put 50 on Australia, Australian team full of B-grade international players who wont be able to keep up with our power, speed, strength and skillset. Their front rowers will get penalized each and every time vs the bokke front row and AUS second row is thin as toothpicks. 56 - 3 South Africa. 🇿🇦 🇿🇦
