Two NASA astronauts will make history Friday morning, some 260 miles above earth. Christina Koch and Jessica Meir will step outside the International Space Station in a few minutes, beginning the first all-female spacewalk. Mark Strassmann reports.

Each weekday morning, "CBS This Morning" co-hosts Gayle King, Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil deliver two hours of original reporting, breaking news and top-level newsmaker interviews in an engaging and informative format that challenges the norm in network morning news programs. The broadcast has earned a prestigious Peabody Award, a Polk Award, four News & Documentary Emmys, three Daytime Emmys and the 2017 Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast. The broadcast was also honored with an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award as part of CBS News division-wide coverage of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. I don't have a problem with multiple women spacewalking. But don't you think they're grasping at straws here for historic female firsts?

First space crime was by a female, too.

Just hire the most qualified! If it happens to be two men so be it. If it happens to be two women so be it too. Plus it isn’t all female anyway because how do they get up there? (Takes a large team effort)

My reaction to this is exactly the same as when I hear something about "the 1st gay male college football player taken in the draft" or some crap like that...SO WHAT! I'm pretty sure society has accepted that it's fine to be gay, women are perfectly capable of doing about any job a man can do so really when you blow something like this out of proportion it really is insulting to the general public. You're telling us we should be amazed by this when really it should just be considered normal.
