2: He didn’t need to pass four cars to win, he needed to pass four to rack up enough points to get into the championship four. That's why you heard someone in the background say, "You made the transfer!"

Couple of things
1. Ross chastain(driver in this clip) didn't do this to win the race but to get spots in the points. Christopher bell won this race.
2. This isn't the first time someone wall rided in nascar but it is the first where they got the result they wanted. Carl edwards did it to jimmy johnson at kansas but came up short, kyle larson did it to denny hamlin at darlington but hamlin did a block and some wall riding of his own to stop the pass, kyle larson did a slide job(go hard into a cornder and don't lift trying to use the opponent/the wall as your break[yes this is legal]) against Kyle Busch which got them into the wall for a few seconds, etc. I'm missing others but this was the first time it actually worked.
3. The audio in the beginning is from a ARCA race.
4. Most interesting moment in nascar? Go look at jeff gordon vs jimmy johnson at atlanta where they are drifting the cars into basically every turn(10 laps of them driving a car way too fast with worn tires at a track with no grip) way, 2024 spring atlanta finish(three wide photo finish with a magin of victory of 0.003), kansas 2024 finish(two wide photo finish with a 0.001 second margin of victory), kurt busch vs kyle busch finish(sibling rivarly), 2012 walkens glen finish(road course 4 way dog fight on the final lap with bump and runs, defensive lines, a dump and run, tire rub, running into the grass, and riding it way too fast into every turn), Kyle larson vs kyle busch at Kansas(beating and banging), dale 18 to 1st at talladega(crazy banzai moves in traffic), or kyle busch 20th to 8th at kansas/darlington 9th to 2nd in two laps(crazy banzai moved in traffic)for a lot more interesting of races. Contrary to what the sanctioning body/the public consenses thinks, the best finishes/displays of talent happen when they occur naturally without forcing a game 7 moment.

It wasn’t to win the race nascar has a playoff system in this case it was the round of 8 chastain needed to get 2 spots to make it based off of points bc in the playoff format a win your in Christopher bell the guy who won the race locked himself in and someone else was locked in also and another guy wasn’t at threat of losing his spot so it was chastain verse his seasonal rival Denny Hamlin and as you see chastain won the final spot in the championship four
