no genre of music has ever made me just completely imagine myself in a different place. when I listen to stuff like this, I feel so relaxed, I feel like I'm not a depressed piece of shit and the reality that this music creates for me is one I never want to leave ever. its to the point where i'm not even hearing the music, I'm just so lost in a world of neon color and nostalgia and its the most soothing feeling in the world. as I listen to this, I actually feel like I matter in this little world I've created. everything within this world is so beautiful and it hurts when the song ends because i have to leave that world for this one full of ugliness and melancholy. Vaporwave is my escape and I absolutely need it.

It's 2024 and its nearing a decade since this song and many others like it were released, and man do I feel nostalgic for it. The era of vaporwave is essentially gone but it will always have a special place in my heart. I'll always yearn for those late nights when I was a young man staring at the stars listening to saint pepsi, HOME and many others, contemplating where I'm going and what I want to do with my life. They always seem to bring me back to that nostalgic place :)

i miss the time in my life when i first discovered vaporwave. it was music unlike any kind i'd heard before and a joy to discover. met so many wonderful people and this music changed the trajectory of my life as it got me into music-making. to this day the only community i ever felt truly connected to. i'll likely have a fond nostalgia for it for the rest of my life
