Homemade Fabric Softener - Scented Vinegar

I love this fabric softener. It works so well and doesn't attack the fibers of the clothes like other fabric softeners can. It is nice and no it does not leave your clothes smelling like vinegar. Now with that being said I would test it before I used it on delicate clothing and fabrics because of the oil.

Finally a use for all these essential oils I have collected. Scent wise, the sky is the limit! Thanks for the tip! I think I'll try the citrus blend first...

I make my own soap, (5 gal pail, looks like shortening, lasts us 4+ years) and have been adding white vinegar to stuff for years. I did an acid test on heinz cleaning and white vinegar from sams, sams actually had a slightly higher acid value. Cleaning vinegar just isn't worth the extra $$. I add 1 cup to clothes in an xtra rinse and spin, washer doesn't have a softener addition. works fine, stuff is very soft and never smells like vinegar. Colors last and I am wearing t shirts and pants well over 10 years old.

Nice idea and I want to try it. I have some white vinegar and lavender oil. The white vinegar has a very strong smell to it and I wonder if I should dilute it with water? I was planning to make this in the remains of an empty fabric softener container so I'm not sure how much lavender oil to add. A little scary because I don't want my washing to smell of vinegar afterwards.

I have pet rats and I discovered that I can use vinegar to clean their cage safely. I'm currently switching to a zero waste lifestyle and I'm amazed at how many different uses vinegar has!! can't wait to try this although I'll probably soak mine in a cloth and just throw that in the dryer, thank you for the video! 💕

I've used it for years including the use of the fabric ball. LOL i thought I was the only one who did that. I'm happy I'm not. In either case I love my vinegar and essential oils. Sooo good for the clothes. for extra softness I know some ppl will use wool dryer balls. Thank you for posting. Look forward to more videos. :-D

I made some tonight using lemon oil. No time to infuse, so I just used it, hope lemon works ok. Doing my laundry now. Too busy to look for my lavender tonight.

I just use regular vinegar. No smell at all left on the clothes which is what I like 🙂

I am trying to make my own fabric softener sheets but I have a issues with static, it's 1 cup vinegar and 20 drops essential oils I'm using clothed squares. Do you have any ideas to keep it from static? I love your fabric softener, I am waiting for the week to use it in washer. Thanks
