Horseshoeing

This is my first video of my job as a farrier.

It's interesting the differences in technique for the Netherlands vs the United States. I've always had farriers here use nippers to trim the feet, then use a knife to do the precision work, and then a rasp, where you use a knife and mallet and then the rasp.

I am aware that most teachers advise pulling down and in with the pull off tongs. Grant Moon has a different opinion. He feels it can injure the sole, so he advises pulling down in line with the shoe. I tend to agree.
