The Pebble Steel does NOT look good. It's completely hideous and looks like it costs about £5.

For the general public, yes the Pebble. For android users, definitely get the Moto 360. I have it and it's fantastic.

Yup I'm talking about TagHeuer, Tissot, Certina Breguet, Patek Philippe, Rolex, Longines, and etc. Those watches actually look good and are intended for adults not kids. Nobody gonna wear a smartwatch with a suit, cmon man...

Pebble is an e-ink display right, not an LCD like he says in the video I believe. I've had my Kickstarter edition for over two years now and it's still working well. I love that the battery can actually last a weekend. I don't know if I see myself switching to a smart watch that requires daily charging.

I have a pebble steel and I like it because I can feel the vibration alert so well on it. I also like the display that is easy to read in any light conditions. It is a watch worth consideration.

Legitimate conclusion since more people can use the Steele, which looks good in person and the different bands can make it look even better. Nice review. Wish it worked with Windows phone too.

i wrote about this just today. I have a Pebble and I dont think i could stand using the moto 360 and having to touch it just to see what the time is. I use my watch for exactly what it is for... to check the time as i manage my sales floor. It's nice that i can get a good watch out of the pebble and still easily see my notifications as they come.

But hey- Apple Fanboys cant use the 360. So They HAVE to make the pebble no. 1 (i love the pebble watch. but its just completely different from the moto 360).


also: as soon as the apple watch will be available, this will be the no. 1 on verge... even though you wont be able to use it on other platforms, other than iOS..

I had the classic pebble before and I do have to say it was great until it disappeared from my wrist one day. Some one could have stolen it without me noticing or the band snapped or something. Still looking to see what i should get to replace it or get another

What's with all the dislikes? The Pebble is cross platform and does all the basics well: time, notifications, with music being extra. But most of all BATTERY LIFE! 
If you do need more, wait till the Moto 360 and LG Watch with Android Wear gets a software update. It should work with any Android device running 4.3+

Samsung Gear, limited to high end Samsung devices only.
Apple iWatch, iPhone 5 or later only.
Don't bother with these two. AVOID the ones which are "closed" to a specific brand.

I liked this video. Verge content is great, regardless of what many people complain. The thing is, their give their opinion and we, as content consumers, evaluate it and compare it with opinions from others. They don't have to be right or wrong, they just give advice based on their expertise. And I understand and love that approach.
