The anxiety and mood swings have been awful for me and quite sudden at 47. I never had this previously and it has really impacted my ability to continue managing work, and family life. My hair and nails changed too, and not for the better. Thanks for posting this, it is very helpful to discuss these matters, as often our doctors don't provide a lot of support for these significant changes that make the day-to-day so difficult during this i'ts no joke. With much gratitude!

Best video about this that I've found so far. I'm 39 soon to be 40. I have the vaginal itching, insomnia, hot as hell out of no where and irritability. I wish women talked about this more.

Why do we have to go through this and men don't?! Why do we have to suffer!? It's not fair what women go through...

Are you kidding me? Here. I'll save you the trouble.
Hot flashes
Insomnia
Mood disorders
Vaginal dryness

Changes in memory
Urinary symptoms (leaks when sneezing/coughing)

None of which are "surprising" symptoms.

I am 41 and I think I am going through the perimenopause. It started with waking up during the night several times, hot flushes, heart palpitation. Anxiety, weird burning sensation of my legs, then I didn't get my period one month. Then I started to get it irregular. PMS pain. I noticed problems with my memory quite a lot.

There are so many symptoms that is not talked about enough.... Also brain fog, you can't concentrate on anything, you became irratic, the worse for me was not getting enough sleep, I wasn't at all happy, very moody, could not tolerate certain people and things that wound me up, whereas before I could let it go. I was so poorly with so many symptoms that I felt for me I needed to go on HRT, my decision but it took me 3 different drs to get my treatment. I'm so much better now, please don't suffer in silence. Look after yourself, have a good diet and they say eating lots of eggs is good for us! I eat healthy which all helps 😊

It's a struggle. I am 45. I am tired all the time, my joints ache, my back aches, my head aches, I have trouble doing chores around the house, my hair in thinning, my skin is itchy, I have been a vegetarian all my life, I am trying to stay on a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables and quinoa, plain yogurt, herbal teas, unsalted nuts, dried fruits, tofu, soy products, turmeric, garlic, ginger, parsley, sage, rosemary, thyme, basil, cummin seeds, cardamom, black pepper corns, cayenne pepper, drinking plenty of water trying to get plenty of sleep etc...

What a fucking trip for us our life is pretty much miserable, when you’re not dealing with PMS, cramps and menstruation, you’re having this crap.

I turned 35 six months ago and all the peri menopause symptoms came rolling in. I’ve been calling it a “mystery illness” until my Dr recently decided that I should probably get my hormones checked. There are also night sweats. The kind that make you feel like you got into bed directly from the shower.

I don't have night sweats, I've been having chills first than cold sweats. My depression is at the point where I struggle with suicidal thoughts. My fatigue level is at the point where it takes too much energy to get out of bed. I feel like I'm dying.
