In the late 1970's, aviation historian and author Dale M. Titler, Sr. interviewed my grandfather, Miles ("Mike") W. Bourdow on his World War II US Army Air Corps (later to become the US Air Force) piloting experiences. Dale, who passed away in 2014, had intended at the time to write a book about Mike's experiences. My understanding is my grandfather passed away prior to Dale having an opportunity to complete the interviews. Dale did, however, pass on the recordings of the interviews to our family. They are now in my care and are personal treasures I am converting to video for the rest of my family (and anyone else who may be interested) to enjoy.

This is part 1 of 6 and covers his experiences as a pilot trainer (he was the first to training Army Air Corp/Air Force pilots on instrument flying, which he despised) just before being heading to the battle arena, where he REALLY wanted to be.
