I just finished “ The Core” demon cycle book 5 yesterday. The whole series was good and I enjoyed it. But it ended the same way that the movie “ Aliens “ did with Ripley comforting the Queen mother Alien in her hive or in this case Arlen and Jardir did in this book

Hi. I have not read any of those, but thanks to your review I want to now. I am currently working on the book Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay, The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman, and The Ancient Magus Bride manga.

Ah such a relevant video! My love affair for 'The Demon Cycle' is no secret and I agree with everything you say on it, particularly your point about the female characters. Elona Paper rules at life! :D

Brett has one book left on his contract which is going to be in the same world :D

However, 'The Book of Dust'. . . .ah I'm sorry to say I can't agree. :S. One of my next videos is actually going to be a full review on it but suffice to say I found it a massive struggle/let down :/. . .

I've seen people talk about The Book of Dust quite a bit on here recently but it's mainly been in haul videos. I saw from the synopsis that it was a part of a series Pullman wrote previously but you're the first person I've heard say where it fits in with it so thank you.
In your opinion where is the best place to start, the prequel or His Dark Material?
