an important thing to note about copying your consciousness and loading it into a new body: your current body is what is responsible for your perception and sense of "self", so if you transferred your consciousness into a new body, you still would effectively die, and a copy of you would be booted up. a lot of people see copying their mind as the key to immortality, which it technically is, but i think many people don't fully understand that it isnt a continuation of your current consciousness
