It’s not supposed to have been a futuristic car. It was an experimental one. The purpose of an experimental car is to use this technology see if it works and then trickle it down into consumer grade stuff. Like the engine which is used in the UP, like the sat nav also used in the up.

I have just seen one in my local area. Sufficed to say EVERYONE was looking at it as it’s the weirdest car I think most people have ever seen

SIPPER CAR, NOT SUPER CAR

This was an exciting tech marvel for its day

Back when plugin electric hybrids were a new idea & the whole point of oil wars was not to create a monster car burning a hole in the air like a bat out of hell with its tail on fire so the oil monopoly can continue to keep us hooked until peak oil is reached around 2100, when oil production drops like a rock, along with the currently estimated 8.6 BILLION people whose population will collapse also to just a few million surviving souls, far greater than the Black Death of the European Dark Ages with 1/3 of the population dying so quickly that the remaining two thirds found it almost impossible to bury them all before they rotted in their homes.

There wasn’t anything even God could fo for them!

And although i know nothing about it, i’m sure Asia suffered devastating losses also.

So VW’s honorable, rational solution was to prolong the availability of petroleum distillates, by SIPPING IT. While we are so dependent on it, we even color our food with it, make clothes from it, + all those plastics we have to chemically reengineer to make biodegradable …

Americans are so dependent on “drill baby drill” to beat the Red Chinese that we’re willing to become a biosphere destroying fascist state to compete with a socialist dictatorship, when neither of these political extremes are necessary, even horribly counterproductive for all human beings FORCED to meet the common threat of having to wean the world off or cheap oil before it’s too deep underground to be affordable, that It might as well be on Mars or Jupiter!

So, we’re only postponing the inevitable!

Before end century, we HAVE to come up with green energy alternatives; like solar, wind & geothermal.

Otherwise, millions, perhaps billions of people alive today will have to suffer real
End Times.

Who’s laughing at biblical prophecies now?

Who knows, but there may come a day when we’ll use deep drilling techniques, where appropriate, for cities to drill down to geothermal energy sources, sufficiently accessible, to power an entire megalopolis with it!

Solar panel stations in geosynchronous orbit, where the Sun is ALWAYS shining on millimeter thin panels, perhaps just mirrors, with converters to microwave, which penetrate our atmosphere 90% better then sunlight, as I recall, may prove to be a major energy source for
all mankind! Even in the remotest places.

Future technologies like this plus massive colonies of offshore electric generators converting wave motion to electricity to power an energy hungry world …

Maybe even artificial stars, trapped in magnetic bottles will finally sustainably produce more energy than they consume!

There’s plenty of hope yet, but it will most likely require cooperation on EVERYBODY’S part to make some or all of these future technologies become sufficiently real to keep an increasingly
desperate mankind from NUKING itself into extinction!!!

Are we really this myopically selfish or insane?

Until energy is plentiful again or our machines are more efficient, as exciting as it is to design & make a supercar to do 320 MPH or more before running out of fuel in 30 minutes.


Which leaves us with the exciting thought, what miracles could a new &
Improved electric & oil based fuel SIPPER car could VW whip up today?!?

Or maybe a hydrogen burning or hydrogen fuel cell car?

No one knows exactly what combination of energy sources will power the future.

Even replacing our asphalt & concrete highways & freeways will glass blocks having solar panels in them to run linear motor powered cars with battery backup is already doable!

So, take finite fossil fuels energy seriously, but don’t worry TOO much.

And China, America & Russia used to be the best of friends & Korea was NOT divided between capitalist v socialist ideologies.

As our understanding of the Oneness of Universe - as evolving Nature, Man & God - deepens, with the understanding that we ARE all things, energy immortal; all these divisive problems will disappear.

An enlightened mankind, along with agape love, is the answer..
