Aldi Sued offers the best fast charging rates in Germany—just 0.39 €/kWh, making it cheaper than gas or diesel as you only need to payy around 7 - 8.5 €/100 km! But there’s a major problem: reliability.

At their charger in Karlsruhe, which is an Alpitronic HYC 150 - 150 kW Charger, one charging point has been out of service for almost a year, and the second charging point appears available but hasn’t worked in over a month. Despite multiple complaints, including a Google review 5 months ago and a recent call, nothing has changed.

With 2024 being a challenging year for the EV industry and 30% fewer EVs expected to be registered in Germany, Aldi can keep fast charging affordable for all and by fixing chargers, they can support the emobility move forward.

They look like EnBW charging points … maybe give them a call … also headquartered in karlsruhe.
