The UCT Data Analysis online short course introduces students to the fundamentals of data analysis, giving them the knowledge they need to explore this exciting, growing field. Students on the course develop highly practical skills related to data capture and storage and are given a theoretical introduction to databases and SQL. Furthermore, the course includes a practical component in which students learn to manipulate, organise, analyse, interpret, and visualise data in Microsoft Excel, using actual open-source data curated to meet the needs of the course.
