On Oct. 1 2024, the Alberta Water Council hosted a Source Water Protection (SWP) Workshop.
The workshop objectives were to:
- Receive background info on SWP and why it is important
- Receive an overview of The Healthy River Ecosystem Assessment System (or THREATS(TM)), a tool that can assist with SWP planning
- Understand THREATS' utility through a case study (Town of Spirit River)
- For the audience to participate in, or observe, a demonstration of THREATS and provide feedback
