Being a recently retired male, I've somehow found myself watching several movies of mature women coming to grips with life's hardships: Land with Robin Wight, Nomadland with Frances McDormand, and this film. They have all been very good films, but Colewell strikes me as the most thoughtful and satisfying (others are 10s, this is an 11). Nothing is overdone and everything - the situation, the acting, the people, the outcome - is as realistic as it gets. That may equate to dull for some, but it hits home for me. Karen Allen is no less than outstanding.

This newly retired character reminds me of a Dear friend, whom many Ppl think, Im close to for the wrong reasons, Its no big deal really, I could stack on a rack the many times she' been there for me. Im happy that I was also there for her. Her character has created the template of what I look for in a life long partner... a honest GOD fearing friend first.

Always adored Karen Allen. This is a film that might actually be worth watching (so much trash these days). You probably have to be over 50 to understand the poignancy of a film like this.
