EHX unveils the Mono Synth which transforms a guitar into 11 different synthesizers… from vintage synth emulations to fat, stacked voices to soaring lead synth sounds and more.

The Electro-Harmonix Mono Synth guitar synthesize pedal was designed to work on guitar without any modifications, special pickups or MIDI implementation. Its intuitive layout makes it user friendly. The pedal’s DRY dial adjusts the dry guitar volume at the Synth Output while SYNTH controls the volume of the synthesizer sound at the Synth Output. Used together they let a player fine tune their mix. The SENS control, short for sensitivity, adjusts how playing dynamics trigger the synthesizer and tailors the pedal’s response to the guitarist’s instrument and playing style.

A key parameter for each of the 11 synth types can be adjusted via the CTRL knob. It varies depending on the preset and provides enhanced “tweakability.” There is also an EXP input that lets the player control an entirely different parameter in real-time with an expression pedal.

The Mono Synth comes equipped with an EHX 9.6DC-200mA power supply.

I remember many years ago, a friend was working on an experimental project somewhat like this concept . . . but things have radically changed since. This is the best version of a synth module pedal I've seen yet, well done.

Electro Harmonix, I have to admit it: you win once again with how you make what we guitar players seek in sounds like these. I bought this to replace my Subdecay M3 mono synth pedal. I mention this pedal not to degrade it: it is also a fantastic pedal, but it is just not for me, more for the more adventurous guitarist/ experimental electronic musician. The M3 caused me irritation with the oscillator that went berserk like a wild distortion, just in the minimal settings. With the EHX Mono synth, , the oscillator effect sounds far more controllable and the different preset sounds are just FUN. And, most important, inspiring again. I always look for new sounds with combinations with my other pedals. My EHX Mel 9, EHX String9 and the Boss Sy1 once again make pleasant new things with this new mono synth toy. And I got a plaeasant surprise when I switched on my EHX Attack Decay pedal: with the EHX mono synth, the volume swells all of a sudden become something really interesting. Where I have to hold down with most other pedals in combination with the Attack Decay, this combination just works!! Thanks EHX for giving me renewed inspiration !
