Hey sir, I learnt elsewhere that resultant force can be calculated using R = 2Tcosx however this doesn’t work in this instance in the last part of the first question. I beg you to explain please.

Hello, why cant we just use R= 2T Cos Theta for the magnitude of force exerted on pulley by string? As thats the way they did it in the textbook

Why dont we take the final part of A ‘s journey acceleration to be 9.8? As when B hits ground, it becomes slack so a travels under acceleration of gravity

in Q3 would it work to calculate the change in gravitational potential energy of B which would be equal to the gain in kinetic energy of A and use it to find the velocity of A when B hits the ground as this doesnt seem to be working when I try it. Thanks I've learnt all of mechanics with your videos.
