This video has a misleading title: it does not discuss the economics of the tunelling, except to quote Musk's press releases, which are notoriously inaccurate.

In reality, the only cost savings that TBC have achieved in tunnel boring when compared to subway tunnels is that the cross-sectional area of the tunnel is a quarter of that of subway tunnels. It also doesn’t have any of the safety or infrastructure expenses that a subway tunnel needs. Putting cars underground won’t solve traffic, just as putting cars on freeways didn’t solve traffic.

The traffic problems in US Citys won't be solved with tunnels. Public transport is the key, just have a look at Barcelona

The TLDR of this video:
"The only practical way to reduce the congestion on roads, is to reduce dependence on roads"
Musk: "Let's try building more roads."

The true way to reduce travel time is to learn from the corona virus epidemic. Why did I start my day checking my messages at home then get in my car to go to the office with my computer to have many phone calls looking at my computer to do the same work I could have done from my home office with no travel tile or co2 emission, cost of office space, fuel cost toll fees driver’s licenses, insurance and maintenance cost...?

What’s ridiculous is the Elon tunnel concept, on every level (pun intended)

Oh, I see!
Replacing congestions on roads, he replaces them with congestions on roads in tunnels that do have complicated entrances and exits. And congestions when trying to finally get a place for one of the elevators.
Soooo brilliant!

Using Tunnels underground to transport people sound like subways/ metro just without the cars....

P.s. cities across Europe use subways and avoid traffic congestion...

Yeah... This video didn't age well. Take a look at what the "revolutionary" boring company end product is in Las Vegas. Common Sense Skeptic has a great video about this

Making a tunnel cheaper by digging less tunnel per mile is like increasing battery capacity by just increasing the amount of battery.
not that revolutionary.

Why have singular EV's when there could be mag-lev trains?

The solution to traffic jams isn't to build bigger and more, just look outside, this problem is only where the roads are the most car friendly.

Why not just build underground electric trains. ?🤓😐

What would be even better is if they connected the pods or cars, used steel wheels, and put them on wear resistant rails with an additional electric rail for power. They could also replace the elevator with automated "hyperstairs" that move people to the high capacity, linked pods. I don't know why no one has done this yet!

I'll believe it when, and only when, I see it taking revenue passengers and actually living up to its claims. That whole idea of taking passengers directly from their origins to their destinations without any transfers means that it has all of the disadvantages of mass transit plus all of the disadvantages of car travel. If your mass transit system can't move, at the very least, 20, 000 passengers per hour per direction then give up. I would be very surprised if TBC can manage 1/10 of that.

lol. their tunnel digging technology might be great, but relying on cars to solve commuting issues is 1 century outdated.

Traffic? What traffic. Like many people, in 2020 my commuting distance permanently changed to zero.

There are 435 current congressional districts in the USA.
If each district had a boring machine which can dig 1mile
per week then it would take about 2 months to dig a
2000 mile coast to coast tunnel - and lots of houses.

The Boring Company hasn't dug a one-mile tunnel in one week. The fast digging numbers are all aspirational.
The LVCC tunnel project was dug with a standard tunneling machine, with maybe a few unspecified improvements. Under two miles of tunnel took them about five months. They have not demonstrated any continuous-digging TBM. They may reveal some big improvements on their next TBM, but they haven't shown anything special in public yet.
They also have not sold any bricks from the Las Vegas project. The dirt was sent to landfill. The Boring Brick business is totally unproven.
You made a lazy video presenting aspirational talk as if it is already reality. You should do more research, and show some skepticism, if you want to be taken seriously.
