I have been trying to root olive for several years. Despite my experiences and my green fingers, the success rate is very low. I would like to finally know the experiences of people for whom the cutting of olives is child's play and always works well, with many details about the method. some important tips :
* do not use too much cutting powder and shake the excess powder from the cutting by tapping it against something (otherwise you will get an excess of callus, but no roots
* put a transparent plastic bag over the pot with an elastic band, so you don't have to mist so often and the soil remains evenly moist
* put the cutting in the shade and out of the wind, so that the cutting cannot move.
* leave the bag closed until there is clearly new growth, but this does not always mean that there are roots
*if you take a transparent pot, you can see if there are roots, without disturbing the plant

I’ve been rooting plants for over 40 years. His soil is very rich watering 2 to 3 times a day if you even get route is going to have route right. Olives are from the Mediterranean region where it’s dry. I’m going to try and 50% sand 50% potting soil
