I'm sorry, the onus should NOT be on the news consumer. The news consumer is busy all day doing his or her work. You should be able to come home and read a newspaper or watch a news show without the onus being on you to determine if the content is true. That should be the onus of the paper or station and they have failed to live up to that responsibility.

I watched ABC World News Tonight for many years religiously. I am so put out and disappointed by David Muir’s behavior and obvious bias and fact checking Trump only that I am now an ex viewer! Although I am not a big Trump fan I thought that Muir’s constant demonizing of him has completely alienated me.
