Just a random thought, like imagine-

Klaus kidnapped elena for the ritual thing but because both Salvatore brothers wouldn't just let him do that very easily, he hid elena back at the Mickelson mansion in Elijah's care while fooling the Salvatore brothers into thinking she was kept somewhere else, and in the meantime the story takes the most shocking twist. While being in Elijah's care and him actually being nice to her, elena couldn't help but fell head over heels for Elijah, and because him having history with her past doppelganger, Elijah also fell for elena, and they share great chemistry. While somewhile later, she is finally rescued by the Salvatore brothers only for elena to confess about her true feelings for Elijah and hence them being the endgame with a pair of twins one boy and one
