Very good content. My method to practice with perspective and animation background is to pause what ever a live action or animation or CG what ever that takes your attention(usually a good shot), and just watch it closely, analyse it, then your brain will memorize it. And the next time, when you have to deal with the same emotion or movement in a storyboard or illustration, you can just pull that shot off your brain and just use that as a baseline.

I learned perspective from Graffiti as a kid, then again as an illustrator, and now i'm re-learning it to convey emotion as you said. Very helpful!

It may be a bit off topic but, It may be interesting for people to know that the discovery of the rules of perspective, by the artists of the Italian Renaissance was the birth of the design process. Before the Renaissance, there was not really such a thing as design. There was architecture but not design. Buildings had been built following recipes or instructions based on quantities and lists of materials and sizes. A good example is Vitruvius Ten Books on architecture dating back to Roman times, which has no drawings in it. I have studied perspective in Vienna and I have an extensive library of perspective books. My favorite English language book is: Step by Step Perspective Drawing by Claudius Coulin.
