Oh. A face.
I've always pictured him as just a Spanish text to speech program from the 90s.

This is hacking. This is REAL hacking in the original sense.
Just playing around with stuff and figuring out how it works.

You used "Battlefront" as a stand in for Battlefield, but Battlefront is actually also a game that, just like Battlefield, runs on the Frostbite engine

Never expected this crossover, but I like it.

Definitely agree with devs who permit access to their games via console access, map editor access, and/or config/rules files (e.g. id Software, early Sid Meiers, pre-EA Westwood, and early Blizzard from my experience). I've heard a lot of developers speak about how they got their start in game programming by modding and/or map making with an in-engine map editor. Indeed, my earliest "programming" involved toying with Red Alert 1's 'rules.ini' file, making custom scenarios in Starcraft 1, and playing with the console and in-editor map editor in Doom 3.

Being part of the SimCity 4 community since 2006 I can attest to how the modding scene can both help playability and extend for decades the lifetime of a game. All due to the cumulative knowledge that members help bring to light and share among one another.
I have found that these inquisitive types of people often have a lot of passion for the games they explore and some of them carry on to be in the gaming industry themselves, passing on that same connection that forms between developer and hardcore gamer. Hey, that's how Easter Eggs came to be!

I wouldn't have known this video existed if it weren't for the Soundcheck episode and seeing LSG as a guest of LTX.

It was an interesting talk, however it would have been nice for some graphics or examples, which wouldn't have been that hard to add.

Metal Gear Solid V is an incredible feat of engineering. I don't know how it is possible but the game is so well optimized, it's like some kind of black magic.
