Zziplex Rods Are Ending Production? The End Of An Era!

I grew up watching my Dad's obsession with Zziplex rods, I never understood it as a kid but now 30 years later I get it. Its unlikely I'll ever be able to own one but I'm really pleased that the legacy has been left intact and not sold to become a name attached to a Chinese blank. I'll keep my eyes open for an old NG1 to rebuild, that was my dad's pride and joy! I'm looking forward to your video on the history of Zziplex 👊

The old ulster casting club site was a mine of historical Zziplex info. A lot of historic names have gone from both the casting scene and British rod making. A sad day but good luck and happy retirement Barbara and the very best to Lee.

Andy Green took the early HST over 300 yards. The ZF250 in prototype did 270 yards on the field and it was a fishing rod.
Terry always pushed the rods to the limit before he would take peoples money.

had a lot of gear off dave over the years, i had a pro am match from him when they first came out, and it was the rod i first cast over 200yds with, using a 7ht, i think i had 2 7hts off him before they were on general sale, i had richard holgate re do the rod the other year, just wish i was young again to be able to use them as much as i did

Sad to see them go, they are prestigious rods and now I’m sure they will become even more collectable.
I’ve just got my hands on a zulcron xt, only used it a few times but I love it so far 😁

I've got two zzippys, a primo powertex and a federation, both favourite fishing rods. First conoflex and now zziplex gone, sad day for British rod building.

What’s your opinion on the. Zipplex 2500lm, I found one in my uncles shed, spigot is perfect but may need to get it rebuilt thanks 🍀

They just can’t match century’s builds….. zziplex not got any more to do.
