"Kick My Ass" is a song originally by Vic Chesnutt, a dear friend of Shirley and the band. The band covered it to feature on the tribute album Sweet Relief II: Gravity of the Situation in 1996 and performed it throughout their self-titled album tour alongside the other Vic Chesnutt track "Supernatural".
