3 Potentially Habitable Planets We've Found So Far

In the search for life beyond Earth, scientists have discovered several potentially habitable exoplanets. These planets have three key ingredients: they orbit their stars at a distance where liquid water can exist, they are rocky like Earth, and they are in the habitable zone of their star. One such planet, about the size of Earth, was discovered orbiting the star nearest our solar system. Most of these Earth-sized planets have been detected orbiting red-dwarf stars, but scientists are also searching for Earth-sized planets in wide orbits around Sun-like stars.
