How to Check & Install New HyperOS Updates on the Redmi Note 13 Series

We can check for and install Redmi Note 13 Pro firmware updates within the Settings application.

On most devices, it's rather easy to check for and install new firmware updates. However, Xiaomi has changed things up with HyperOS and has tucked the feature away behind a rather unintuitive area.

I have the Redmi Note 13 Pro here, but this will also work with all other devices in the series.

It's really easy, you just have to know where it is to begin with.

So we start by first opening up the Settings application
And then we're going to tap on the My Device menu up here at the top.
Now you're going to see a big banner for the version of HyperOS that you have installed.
And we can check to see if a new firmware update is available on the Redmi Note 13 by simply tapping on it.
You'll see the phone checking to see if a new update is ready.
And we can then decide if you want to download and install that update or not.

Every now and then you'll see a prompt at the bottom of the page here asking if you want the firmware to automatically download these update when they become available

I usually decline this, because I would rather not have big firmware updates downloaded and installed in the background without be knowing what is going on.

But that will be up to you.
It's a good idea to check for these new Redmi Note 13R firmware updates at least once per month as that's usually when a fresh security update is released.

We can also tap on this 3-dot menu icon up here in the top right corner.
This will give us the option to manually download the latest package.
Which is almost always going to be the current firmware that you already have installed.
We can adjust the Update Settings from here
- Like choosing if we want the updates to be downloaded in the background.
- Or if we want to use mobile data to download the updates or not

We can also select the What's New option from this menu.
This will give us a changelog of everything that is included in the new firmware update. . .or the current one that you have installed.
That will depend on whether or not a new update has been made available to you or not.

As you can see, it's really easy to check for these new HyperOS updates for the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, the Redmi Note 13, and all other devices in the series.
We just need to know where to find it since Xiaomi has chosen to not include an "update" section anywhere else within the Settings application
