Edit: just to add - I know the girl represents the bride of Christ/the church. However, seeing the image of Christ holding her declaring that he was STILL singing over her... man, it felt so personal. It was like God was saying this directly to me and I was able to grasp that truth more than I ever have before. I am grateful to anyone who has prayed for me - things are still difficult, but God is faithfully carrying me through.

Chris … when I HEARD this written and sung by my granddaughter and dedicated to my husband (her Papa), at his funeral 10 months ago…it took what little breath I had..AWAY!

Today as I WATCH it…it GIVES me breath 🥰 it’s complete!! 😇… from the sounds of breathing in the intro through the build of hope culminating in wedding bells … it engraves WORDS of truth and hope, on my broken heart, where I had none … it’s beyond any adequate words for me to describe…I see new details everytime I watch it and have not been able to watch it without tears even once …

This is how I felt when our 5 month old son Elias died of respiratory failure in the spring of 2012, though we held him in the hospital and prayed for his healing. I almost went crazy that year, barely saw any reason to live or any point in the whole creation. Since then I've lived in hope of the Resurrection, to see my son again in the presence of Christ on that Day with all my terrible memories and even sense of loss regained so that I can experience the Glory of God's fullness in Christ at the Resurrection when all the evil and death is undone. What Bonhoeffer said I think is true: "There is nothing that can replace the absence of someone dear to us, and one should not even attempt to do so. One must simply hold out and endure it. At first that sounds very hard, but at the same time it is also a great comfort. For to the extent the emptiness truly remains unfilled one remains connected to the other person through it. It is wrong to say that God fills the emptiness. God in no way fills it but much more leaves it precisely unfilled and thus helps us preserve -- even in pain -- the authentic relationship." Until, at least, we meet on the other side of the Last Day.
