#shorts #mathonshorts Dive into the world of Linear Congruence with this quick example! We break down how to solve 12x ≡ 16 mod 20.

🔍 General Rule for Linear Congruence Equations:
For the equation 𝑎𝑥≡𝑏(𝑚𝑜𝑑 𝑚):

Determine the greatest common divisor, d = (a, m).
If d divides b, then there are d solutions.
If d doesn't divide b, then there are no solutions.

trying to get how the inverse of 3 is 2, or from a problem in my book, how the inverse of 9 is 3. I don't see how this works.

Nice vid
However, we could look at this way:::
12x=16mod20
(12-20)x=16mod20
Because 16 cant divide 12 successfully..thus i said (12-20)x..and this alwsys works for every cases.
-8x=16mod20
x=-2mod20
x=18 mod 20
And it satisdies the congruence equation

Wouldn’t x = 8, 13, 18 mod 20 also be solutions for the linear congruence ?
