First-Time Stealth Camping in Fraser’s Hill Malaysia with My Land Cruiser – Am I ready for this?

This is my first time trying stealth car camping with my trusty Land Cruiser and I picked Fraser’s Hill. I wasn’t sure if I was really ready for it, but I packed up my Land Cruiser, found a quiet spot, and decided to spend the night.

Let’s just say… stealth camping isn’t as easy as it looks…

In this video, I take you along for the full experience : the setup, the unexpected guests in the night, and what it’s really like trying to stay low-key in a place like this.

I was watching while thinking of your safeties lol 😂 As a solo female driver, please have some curtains or maybe some magnetic shade on that can seal completely the window when you are sleeping in the car/car camp alone…it’s never too much to do for safety ❤ great video btw ~

There's actually a rest stop further up which has new toilet facilities. Whenever I go up to Fraser's Hill, I always stop at that place for the view, and there's always at least one or two tents pitched up there. Great view and new toilet for water and facilities nearby. Should try there next time.

In Europe, stealth camping usually involves fitting out a commercial vehicle for van-lifers who do not want to look like a motorhome or a camper van. This allows them to park even in urban areas without attracting too much attention. Treebud is carrying out Wild Camping where the vehicle is more obviously set up for “camping”. Again in Europe certain local governments will often allow overnight parking of campervans and motorhome but do not allow “ camping” activities defines as placing any furniture outside the van, or extending an awning. In Malaysia we do not have much choice since there are so few facilities so by definition we are Wild Campers.
