Seagate of DOOM!

This is a Seagate ST3000DM001. It has the worst track record of any drive I've ever worked with in my 20 years of IT work.

these were shit, tons of these failed the same way. the 3TB was the worst one they made, and they had high failure rates. Sounds like yours headcrashed hard.
