I.T. Career Questions

I've been thinking long and hard about taking the next step for my YouTube channel and I've decided that rebranding as I.T. Career Questions is the best way to go.

I really love helping people and I am extremely passionate about Information Technology and I would love to help you guys grow as people and I.T. Professionals.

I will be dedicating this channel to answering all of your...you guessed it...I.T. Career Questions.

I will still be doing a WEEKLY AMA and I will also let you guys know what projects I'm currently working on for the week. You will also find a lot of great new material here.

I have one year left in my schooling for network administration...so the fact that you are doing this is great...I have been a chef for 20 years and got burned out...I decided to work my brain for the next 20...I look forward to all the help I can get because this is all new to me and i have no prior experience...and sometimes I feel like a 4 year old in physics class...but I love it and I'm good at it so let's see what the future holds...

I'm in the process of trying to make this a career Zack, I'm about to get out of Active Duty Army & switch over to reserves my occupation specialty is Signal System Support Specialist and I have worked with most of this before. A friend of mine (Mike) shares the same occupation as mine is an IT Specialist and has been one for the past 8 months. I want to get into this career as well because I know it pays well and it is similar to what I do, however I am very nervous.. This is a huge step for me and I'm honestly worried that I won't really grasp everything, however Mike had told me that there are a few months of training before the actual job starts. I just wanted to see if that was true and how in depth the training is. I feel as if I'm over thinking this, but seeing how this is something that I see as a big step I think it's okay and normal to be nervous, but I will not let fear get in the way of what I want to give myself a good future. Just stumbled into your videos and they are awesome! However, from the few videos I watched I noticed you mostly use Microsoft products on your job. What's your take on Linux environments?

I am attending a relatively large IT job fair do you have any tips that can help me impress the companies I talk with or just tips in general such as what I should put on my resume. Look forward to hearing from you ps. I have not decided on a specific field in IT
