Every single member/instrument really SHINES on that song. guitars, drums, percussion, bass, samples, turntables, and vocals. This song is the perfect demonstration of slipknot. Slipknot should make more songs like this, of course with an allways evolving sound

I love how he’s literally tearing his vocal chords apart. No proper screaming technique. Just pure emotion, effort, and power from his gargantuan neck. Literally just going full force, possibly blowing out his voice, lungs and throat. Luckily, he is The Neck, obviously, and can take it. Anyone else would probably never sing again. Lots of others anyway.

Even if you run... I will find you
I decided I want you, now I know... I need
If you can't be bought, tougher than I thought
Keep in mind, I'm with you
Never left out fate, can't concentrate
Even if you run

You will be mine
Ah, fucking you will be mine
Ah, fucking you will be mine
Ah, fucking you will be mine

I found you leaning out of an open window
You laughed, your fingers clenched
Too perfect, far too careless
I couldn't help myself, I just took you

Damn it, man, I knew it was a mistake
Damn it, man, I knew it was a mistake
Damn it, man, I knew it was a mistake
Damn it, man, I knew it was a mistake
(You brought it outta me) mistake
(You brought it outta me) mistake
(You brought it outta me) mistake
(You brought it outta me) mistake

Better make yourself at home, you're here to stay
You won't bother me... If you let me bother you
All the doors are locked, all the windows shut
Keep in mind, I watch you
Never leave my side, never leave me, fucker
Even if you run

What the fuck is different, man? I can't believe I'm doing this
And what the fuck is different, man? I can't believe I'm doing this
What the fuck is different, man? I can't believe I'm doing this
And what the fuck is different, man? I can't believe I'm doing this!

What the fuck is different? I can't believe I'm doing it
What the fuck is different? I can't believe I'm doing it
What the fuck is different? I can't believe I'm doing it
What the fuck is different? I can't believe I'm doing it

Man, I knew it was a mistake
Damn it, man, I knew it was a mistake
Damn it, man, I knew it was a mistake
Damn it, man, I knew it was a mistake
(You brought it outta me) Mistake
(You brought it outta me) Mistake
(You brought it outta me) Mistake
(You brought it outta me) Mistake

I love the first Slipknot Album so much! I love how it's almost a seemingly perfect blend between pure rage and still has a sense of dread and creepiness to it that no band or album before or after it can achieve.

His vocal delivery on this album hasn't been beaten. He sounds like he's honestly losing it.

4:16 at this part, Corey sounds like he's actually emotionally snapping and it's so creepy and cool

3:05 is my favorite part. It’s all chaotic, mindless, building anticipation. Then it all comes together in a break down. I snap my neck every time I listen to this song it’s up there as my top 10 for sure.

Had my mom buy me this album in 5th grade. Slipknot introduced me to the Metal genre. Much love and respect to the Nine. Rest in paradise, Paul and Joey.

I've only just realized. Both this and 'Purity' were based off The Collector as well as a fictional criminal case, right? Prosthetics seems like the pov of the antagonist, and Purity is more like what goes inside the mind of his victim. It's also worth mentioning that both songs have very contrasting endings.Purity's ending turns cries of an anxious person into anger, or possibly revenge. Meanwhile the ending in Prosthetics illustrates how a demented person's twisted desires turn into guilt, as he is tormented by his acts.Anyone else thinks about it the same way, or just me?
