Thank you for this video! I am planning on doing "no spend" beyond January even. I feel so overstocked at home. Like the old saying, "use it up, wear it out, make do, or do without"

I play games with myself. Ill go on Amazon and go shopping for things i would like. Then i put them in my cart. Then i go back in my cart the next day and decide its too much money--then ill put half of the things in a save for later. The next day ill go nack and look at my cart and see that most pf it isnt necessary, so i put that in save for later.. the whole process takes about a week, but i end up deleting everything!! The funny part is i still felt like i went shopping! Lol!

I'm only spending on food, housing, utilities, medications/doctor/dentist. We will be celebrating our daughter's birthday in March but, other than that, tightening up the finances to get out of debt.

I’m grateful when I have a “no spend” day. ☺️

I’m doing a no/low spend in January.. I’m self employed & business was unfortunately slow in December. So we have a very tight budget for the month ahead.. I’m up for it & hoping it’s an uneventful month so we come in under budget! 🤞🏻

I'm not buying clothes, books, jewelry, appliances. I'll buy groceries, personal care, cat food and litter. All year. Oh, I do bake my own bread

I really like that outlook to not letting it be a punishment. I was seeing it that way because my spending has gotten out of control. This is a great video I'm going to watch it a few times to let it sink in.

I do no spend all the time.I like it. Don't buy paper towels any more cause I found a ton of white washcloths so I use them and wash them.Saved a ton.

Thank you! I'm doing a no spend month of January. I got paid today for January and already planned my essentials and my envelopes. 😊🤗🤗🤗

You are a treasure, for sure. I can't do it this January but I'm hoping to do it next year. I like your idea: 'What can I donate? ' That made me set a goal of donating one box each month of the coming year of good quality items. A year-long slow purge. Thanks for the inspiration. 😃

My husband and I are doing the no spend January and it’s been successful. I have done #5 to reflect and adjust. I have journaled our purchases and that has felt good. To actually go into a store and buy exactly what is on my shopping list. The other thing that has helped is shopping one day a week. We also have been eating leftovers and going through our freezer to plan meals around meat I already have.

I just went through my email and clicked unsubscribe on nearly every retail website.
I do this every winter right after Christmas

Before I even came across your channel I set a grocery budget for the year and plan to use only cash when grocery shopping. I’m single and it’s so easy to use a card and lose track of spending. Thanks for the advice.

I got so much reduced meat this week - 3kg of fresh large chicken breasts for £7, 1.5 kg of 5% lean grass fed beef mince for £3.50 (got on boxing day) and put straight in freezer. Do not need to buy meat in January.

Great tips and ideas! Thanks for sharing. I am doing a no-spend January and then low-spend for the rest of the year (possibly another no-spend month during the summer). In January I will be doing shelf-cooking (cause my freezer is packed!). No new clothes in 2024 and 30-Day waiting period on all non-essential items plus paying cash for any items I follow through on purchasing after the 30 days. This past year, I did a daily budget check-in and will continue that this year (it was eye-opening to say the least) and lastly, no credit card purchases in 2024.

Just found out my grandson is running track this spring and is beginning conditioning now. So I bought running outfits and shoes for him…after spending a ton on everyone at Christmas. Boy do I need to listen to you!

I’m doing a pantry challenge.. I found baby back ribs today that had to be marked wrong $.89 a pound a full rack.. for less then $4 I grabbed 2.and I have a half a ham from Christmas and the ham was less then $8.., there are deals out here.. I did my inventory today and was surprised .. I probably have a month or longer of food.. friends here is a tip.. sit down and write a list of every food item in your home..as you use stuff you will know what’s running low .., I have a list I keep on my phone and have for the last year.. so it’s always with me.. as things run out or run low I know exactly what I need to grab.. I budget 300.00 a month.. doing so I may not need but $200
Now I can tell you now I probably have enough meat for the month of January and maybe some of February because I’m starting with those scraps I froze and I’m going to make a pot of whatever in this bag soup.. and portion and freeze.. so that will generate several servings just from scraps
