Echo Show 8 (Amazon): Unbox, Setup, Demo and Review in 10 minutes

In this video, we'll take a look at the new Amazon Echo Show 8. This versatile device can play movies/video (Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Hulu and more - though, no NetFlix at the moment), music plays great and the sound is quite good. It's also great for controlling devices in your smart home, such as thermostats, lights, etc. and much more.

I use the echo5 now and am really looking forward to using the echo 8. My three gripes about it are:
1. Can't show clock full screen on display (on the 8...it does on the 5 and I like that)
2. Only a 1MP camera
3. It seems you can't turn off the recommended skills, etc and that is a shame.

Even now as I'm on my computer, I have the echo 5 playing Tombstone for background...pretty awesome. :)

This review is 8 mo old now. I recently picked up this Echo 8 for 64.00 on Prime Day. Just wondering if there's been any type of update to change that clock face as of now? :).

I have been having issues connecting my echo show 8 with the Alexa app. I’ve even called amazon and they don’t know why it can’t be done . Any suggestions ?

Basically the app only shows the other echo I have but would not show the echo 8

Movie searching: You can say "Alexa, show me Christmas movies" and it will return a list. However, most of them are for pay options. I wish there was a setting to only show what I get for free (i.e. Amazon Video, Netflix, and Youtube).
