What I initially thought this song was about turned out to be wrong. When I first heard this amazing song, I thought it referred to how different emotional events effect other people in so many opposite ways. For example, Halsey repeats this line throughout the song: "Everything is blue, " making me think she was speaking in metaphoric terms such as sadness and then Halsey goes onto say: "Everything is grey, his hair, his smoke, his dreams, " implying that the person she's speaking of may be grieving.

This song reminds me of my mother after we lost my grandmother. She took a lot of pills due to her COPD and many of them were blue. She was gorgeous the morning of her funeral. All of the scans from the oxygen masks were covered up and I still want up every morning but it's hard knowing that she's not in her room anymore.
