I am 35 years old and live in Cologne, Germany. To me, America looks like a horror movie. I would never want to walk around there.

I’m from Europe, eastern Europe, Serbia to be specific and 6 years ago my friend from Ohio took me to Manhattan and we spent 2 days there. One evening we took a shortcut through the central park because our hotel was next to Plaza. It was 11 PM and I was surprised by the tens of dozens of rats jumping across the path. Then I saw my friend looking around with a scared face. Just then I realized, holy crap! It is 11PM and we’re taking a walk through the central park. It was God’s grace and protection that nothing happened.

I will never complain about where I live ever again!

It looks like it's in slow motion. Like life is in slow motion. No purpose, no hope, no change. Suspended in a vacuum. Day after day, after day, after day...

Welcome to America! Richest third world nation! No public health care system, no public pensions, affordable housing out of control, crumbling education system, no tuition free public universities, no public senior care, infrastructure falling apart, no family tax credits...but tax breaks all day long for corporations and billionaires!!!

The dude yelling at you in the beginning lmao. Props to you for ignoring him, I felt like I was losing my temper just watching it.

It's not the place, it's the people.

That guy in the wheelchair in the tunnel on his own might be one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen. Not right seeing people left like that. Where’s the humanity in the world.

Just imagine these streets 80 years ago with respectable folks with jobs and dressed real nice greeting each other. WTF happened think about that!!! Trash on the floor people sinking to the ground my God how we fucked things up in a short amount of time.

I walk my dog at 4 am in a major Canadian City and my biggest concern is wildlife. Coyotes, skunks, and in the spring, aggressive Whitetails. This is like another planet.

My mother lived in South Bronx during 60s and 70s. She said it was terrifying!

I used to live not far from there on Webster Ave. My MOM saved my life when she told the old man it's time to get out of the city. Now I'm up in Vermont smoking that good, inexpensive Vermont reefer. Thanks, Mom.

greatest city in the world my ass. This looks so depressing, I can't imagine living somewhere like that.

When people say owning a car in the city is a luxury, its more like another level of life. Imagine getting off work and taking a train or bus with these people on it, then walking through them on the way home. And this is a main road, well lit, and plenty of people passing through.
