Submission and oppression are two different things, submitting to your husband should come naturally from a place of love its not something that is forced upon you. Dont let the world lie to you. Your husband is not the head to oppress you but to protect you and you are hes helper and a helper is not slave remember helper is the same name given to the Holy spirit. The depravity of man knows no bonds.

As a result of this sermon, I re-read Ephesians 5 v 8. For years, I had read the text as "you were IN darkness", when it actually says "you WERE darkness". While this may seem minor for some, for me, this helped me to understand Psalms 51:5 in a new way. Without Christ as our light, we ARE darkness, will live in darkness, and can only produce darkness.
