the Miche Primato crankset is very underrated and even though they are not as stiff as Omniums or 75s, they hold up and you know you are getting your cranks for a reputable italian brand. also, in the uk they are the easiest mid to high end crankset to get a hold of and are sold in most bike shops.

Two mentions for contact points. First is the Cinelli Scatto saddle, which is surprisingly affordable. I know a saddle is very personal, though if you tend towards a flat-ish profile saddle, the Scatto is one of the lowest cost quality saddles available. Next item is Fabric (brand) lock on grips, for straight or riser bars. They have a textured rubber pattern, work well in rain, or with sweaty palms, and they look nice.

Bob Jackson off the peg track frame, a hand built silver soldered lugged frame out of Reynolds tubing from a proper traditional British Frame Shop for a fraction of the price of many of the more pretentious frame shops, It started out in the 50s round the back of the bike shop, although the Internet killed the Bike Shop, the frame shop is still going strong. I have four Bob Jackson bikes I bought after I got tired for paying high price tag for a branded carbon frameset, to find it having having been built within minimum cost and zero quality control in the most undeveloped parts of the third world. Nothing wrong with that, if the price reflects the quality, but when its 10 times the factory gate price! Now i get my frames made in Leeds England, by men in brown overalls that drink tea and still cost no more than some Cambodian Carbon.

You should also check out Velo Orange brand cranks, stems, headsets, seat posts, and anything else you can think of. Super high quality, relatively lite and very stylish.

130 BCD road cranks (I do shimano 105 hollowtech) with TA Alize Track chainring. Super stiff and potentially super light (a lot lighter than Omniums)

in colombia we have the "OnTrail freebike track" a 1900 gr aluminum frame set that cost 80 us dollar in raw condition and around 95 painted

I do my bike riding at night. Say around 2:30 in the morning, and come back at 4:30 cause their's no traffic on the streets at night. Which I say is the best time go.
